Platform Terms of Use

Terms of use, subscription policy, privacy and intellectual property

Draft pending legal review

This document is a placeholder. It was written to give the platform a complete, readable terms page and to unblock the consent checkboxes that link here. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and it makes no representation about the charitable, tax or donation status of any ministry using this service. Have counsel review it before you rely on it. It can be edited at any time from the copy editor — changes publish live, with no deploy.

1. Who we are

DailyLight (the "Platform") gives ministries and teachers a branded member site: a searchable library of their own teaching, an assistant grounded only in that teaching, and a way for their community to support the work.

The Platform is a service provider to the ministry. Each ministry (the "Creator") is independently responsible for the teaching published on their site, for the doctrine and claims expressed in it, and for their relationship with their own community.

We do not endorse, review, or vouch for the doctrine of any ministry on this Platform. Hosting a site is not agreement with what it teaches.

By creating an account, giving, subscribing, or otherwise using the Platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Definitions

3. Accounts and eligibility

You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your country of residence, and you must provide accurate registration details. You are responsible for everything done through your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.

An account belongs to one Creator's site. The same email address may hold separate accounts on different Creators' sites; those accounts are unrelated and do not share data.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and a Creator may remove a Member from their own site.

4. Giving and subscriptions

Some sites are supported by giving, some sell access tiers, and some do both. Which applies is shown on the site before you pay.

Cancelling stops the next charge; access continues to the end of a period you have already paid for.

Tax treatment of a gift is between you and the Creator. The Platform does not issue tax receipts and makes no representation that any payment is tax-deductible. Ask the ministry directly.

Payments are processed by our payment provider and go directly to the Creator, who is responsible for their use. The Platform may retain a service fee.

5. Refunds

Except where a refund is required by the consumer law that applies to you, payments are non-refundable once the billing period has begun. Voluntary gifts are, by their nature, not refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will investigate.

6. Content and intellectual property

Teaching published on a Creator's site belongs to that Creator (or to their licensors). Access grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use that Content for your own study and devotion.

You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly perform, or use Content to train a machine-learning model, without the Creator's written permission.

Scripture texts included in the Platform are used under their own licences. The Platform itself — the software, design and trademarks — remains ours.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Prayer and community features are for sincere use. Content shared there may be visible to others on that site — do not post anything you need kept private.

8. The assistant and generated material

The assistant answers only from the Creator's own published teaching and the scripture texts the Platform provides. Some material on a site — including daily readings and devotional scripts — may be generated with the assistance of software and reviewed by a person before publication.

It is an automated tool. It can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and it does not speak for the Creator, for any church, or for God. Treat its answers as a study aid, not as pastoral counsel or doctrinal authority. Where a question matters, take it to your Creator, your pastor, or another qualified person.

Answers are not professional advice, and specifically not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or an emergency service in your country.

Usage may be limited by the tier you hold. Requests that reach the model count toward your allowance even if the model then returns an error.

9. Privacy and data

We process your account details, your activity on the site, and the questions you ask, in order to operate the service. Creators can see activity on their own site. Creators are separated from one another: one Creator can never see another Creator's Members or Content.

Prayer requests and questions can be sensitive. Share only what you are willing for the ministry running that site to read.

We use third-party processors for hosting, payments, transcription, email and model inference. We do not sell personal data.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

10. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn. A Creator may change their tiers and pricing; a change to a price you are already paying takes effect at your next renewal, not mid-period.

We may amend these terms. Material changes will be notified on the site, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided "as is" and we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a Creator's acts, omissions, teaching or use of funds. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

12. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time and close your account from your account page. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these terms. Provisions that by their nature survive termination — intellectual property, liability, and governing law — continue to apply.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the Platform operator is established, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

Questions about these terms: use the contact page on this site.
